As usual, the days around Christmas are crazy. This time was not an exception, I couldn’t spend the time that would like with my family and ll my friends, but somehow I managed to see all of them. Tomorrow we are going to Barcelona and enjoy a couple of days until new year.

Here are some of the presents that I made for christmas – pumpkin and nuts jam, butter cookies and lavender bags. They were a success!

2010 was a great year, and I wish everybody a wonderful 2011!

The holidays were good and long like they used to be during school.I still have one and half week of holidays, lucky me, but I’m looking forward to start my “new” life. September for me is always the beginning of a new year, where you plan and prepare yourself for all the new projects. I said goodbye to summer and my sweet Lisboa and on my last day I went  with my mum one more time to the beach. Seriously, this year the weather and the water temperature was really good.

At home I had some sunflowers waiting for me and my love. When we were traveling to Portugal, I fell  in love with the  sunflowers’ landscapes in France. I’ll try to show some photos later!

In the garden, there are still some grapes but we can start to see that the Autumn has arrived. The grapes are not the super sweet but we are in the Netherlands, what could we expected?

Mushrooms are growing everywhere , different colours, sizes and shapes.

But I still could find some blackberries.

Have a nice day!!

Next Friday we go to Portugal by car and we will travel a bit around France and Spain and probably on Sunday we are already in Lisbon! I’m looking forward to it! I will be there for almost 2 months, lucky me!

Thursday is my last day at Philips and as a goodbye present I made some strawberry jam ( I did a couple of months ago with this purpose and also for us!) and I baked some chocolate &  pumpkin seed cookies! Delicious!

I know that for the next couple of months, the blog will be more calm but I’ll try to update some photos and news!

Have a nice summer holiday!!

Rhine riverside

We started in St Goar and visited one of the few castles that are still almost intact since ever. it is beautiful, but sometimes when you go underground it is a bit scary, well  a lot of suspense! The stairs were also an adventure, as you can see below!

Afterwards, we went to Bacharch for a lovely lunch. the town is adorable and very small, of course in the top of the hill there is a castle, which by the way is a youth hotel! Lovely!

A long the way, you can always discover castles in each side of the riverside! It’s  unique and beautiful, makes you travel and think about  the magic that surrounded the previous and “old” centuries!

Then we crossed the river near Binge to visit a lovely city (but also very touristic) called Rusdesheim .

Now that the good weather  is coming, we are planning to go there for another weekend, the river as so much more to explore and definitely it should be amazing to see everything with a beautiful sunshine!

I think that if you need to have a small break, maybe you should consider this region! It´s so romantic!

The 72 squares and the 20 white stripes are cut! Now begins the most cool part of the puzzle! This weekend was lovely and rest days, with family trip around the Rhine river and its beautiful castles and villages! Also, I had time to sew, to cut and to finish other projects!

Have a nice week!

Next weekend we are going to London…I’m so happy! I need all the tips for crafts and fabrics shops, markets and so on!!!

Can you help me?

Thanks!! Have a nice weekend!*

Bruges is a wonderful city, it’s lovely and magic!!

We spent a really nice weekend there, it’s near by and I felt  in a different dimension. It was a restless weekend!

The houses are lovely, all of them in this kind of shape and size…the doors and the windows have different colours, some of them are orange or red! I imagined myself  living there all the time… and I wished all of them!

It seems like a fairytale and the lovely a chocolate shops spread a delicious chocolate smell around every corner!! amazing!!!

Besides chocolate, beer is also part of the Flemish culture, it’s unbelievable!!! Bars with 300 beers!

But I’m sure the weather and the grey colours gave a special and magic light to the city!!

It was a lovely weekend!!!
